Orty returned home from Southern Africa on Monday night, tanned and more grizzled than when he left. I am rarely envious when hearing about his trips, but this one was different. He saw leopards mating, wild dogs, and tented in the midst of silent elephants. I would have been happy with just the birds or the smells of the African bush.

I have spent the last 2 weeks preparing a power point presentation, which I gave to a group of operating room nurses in Billings on Tues. Dot Gallager, Cynthia Ware, and Rebecca Prescott attended and offered some excellent feedback. Dot didn't hold back, but let me have it right between the eyes. As soon as she stated her case, I knew exactly which slides to delete and how to improve the presentation. But why couldn’t I have seen it from the get go? Good thing I have friends who don’t mince words. All those miles walking in Battambang or standing on the corner taking pictures of people in unsafe traffic mode paid off with the slides of 5-6 people on a motorcycle, the kolyuns, and over laden trucks. The nurses asked great questions and I think all our goals were met.

I bought an extra battery for the camera so there is no excuse in Afghanistan for not taking pictures.

Stacy at SIGN--thanks for the hyphen.
